About

As a magazine journalism major at The University of Georgia working toward a certification in music business, I have loved music since a young age. Writing has always come easily to me so I decided I’d like to pursue a career in music journalism. My original blog, Rhymes and Riffs was created in August 2009 when I was 16. What used to only focus on pop music track features have now changed into a mix of think pieces. All the posts on Rhymes and Riffs are now located on here my WordPress music blog.

In the past, I have written for VOX Teen Communications and  music discovery website GoRankem. Formerly a contributor for The Jewel Wicker Show, I wrote full-length album reviews as well as reported on Billboard chart news. I’ve also contributed a column and artists features for the Athens Banner-Herald. Currently, I work as a contributing editor for Ugazine, a student lifestyle magazine at UGA. Before then I wrote for the publication.

My aim is to explore the different avenues of music journalism. There’s more to it than just album reviews and that is where I want to focus my writing. Analysis and trends are where my interest lies.
